Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Wamei processes personal information when you use the app. The current version of Wamei is designed primarily as a device-based immersive photo experience. Based on the current implementation, key memory images and memory-progress data are primarily stored on the user’s device rather than in a Wamei-hosted cloud account system.

Where third-party platform services are involved, such as Apple’s app distribution and in-app purchase systems, those services may process information under their own policies in addition to this Privacy Policy.

2

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Wamei, we may collect or process the following categories of information:

Category Examples in Wamei How It Is Obtained
Photo library content you choose to import Images selected from your device photo library to create memory objects Provided by you after you grant permission and select content
Local app content and progress Memory titles, image references, melt state, temperature progress, updated timestamps Generated during app use and stored locally on device
App preference data Sound, haptics, and ambient settings Chosen by you in the app and stored locally on device
In-app purchase related records Virtual coin balance, processed transaction identifiers, product selection state Received through Apple purchase flows and local app records
Support communications Email address and the information you include when contacting us Provided directly by you

Based on the current codebase reviewed for this document, Wamei does not appear to rely on a dedicated user account system, advertising SDK, or broad cross-app tracking framework in this version. If this changes in the future, this Privacy Policy should be updated before or when the new processing starts.

How We Use Information

We use personal information only as reasonably necessary for the app experience and lawful operations, including to:

  • let you import photos and transform them into Wamei memory objects;
  • store and display memory progress, such as frozen, warming, melted, or awakened states;
  • save your sound, haptics, and ambient experience preferences;
  • deliver and reconcile Apple in-app purchase outcomes, including virtual coin crediting and duplicate transaction prevention;
  • respond to support requests, questions, complaints, or legal rights requests;
  • maintain product integrity, troubleshoot issues, enforce policies, and satisfy legal obligations.
4

Legal and Compliance Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, Wamei may rely on one or more of the following:

  • your consent, such as when you allow access to your photo library or choose to send support information;
  • performance of our relationship with you, such as enabling the app to store your memory selections, settings, and purchase results;
  • legitimate interests, where recognized by applicable law and not overridden by your rights, such as app integrity, fraud prevention, and improvement of core functionality;
  • legal obligations, where retention, disclosure, or response is required by law.
5

How We Share Information

We do not sell your imported photo memories for money. We also do not state that Wamei “shares” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in this current version of the app.

We may disclose limited information in the following situations:

  • to platform providers such as Apple where needed for app distribution, payment processing, fraud handling, refunds, or platform compliance;
  • to service providers or advisors that help with legal compliance, technical support, or business operations, subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection measures;
  • where required by law, regulation, court order, or lawful governmental request;
  • to protect rights, safety, security, property, users, or the public;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or asset transfer, subject to lawful safeguards.
6

Storage, Local Device Retention, and Deletion

Based on the current implementation reviewed, imported memory images are saved in the app’s local device document storage, and app settings and memory state records are stored using local device preferences. This means much of the information used by Wamei is retained on your device unless and until you remove it, delete the app, clear local data, or reset specific content.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information:

  • imported memory images and memory state data may remain until you delete the memory or remove the app data;
  • local settings may remain until you change or clear them;
  • purchase-related local records may remain as needed to avoid duplicate credits, comply with law, or resolve support matters;
  • support emails may be retained for a reasonable period necessary to respond, document outcomes, and meet legal obligations.

If you request deletion of information we control directly, we will review the request in light of applicable law, technical feasibility, fraud prevention, accounting needs, and other legal obligations.

7

Security Measures

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information and the app’s design. No method of storage, transmission, or device operation is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Because the current version relies significantly on local device storage, the security of your data is also affected by your device protections, including passcodes, operating-system updates, backup settings, account security, and whether others can access your unlocked device.

8

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or complaint to a regulator. Because Wamei currently stores a substantial portion of app data locally on device, some requests may be most effectively exercised directly by you through the app or your device settings.

You may generally:

  • deny or revoke photo-library access through your device settings;
  • delete imported memories from within the app where that feature is available;
  • change local sound, haptics, and ambient preferences inside the app;
  • contact us to request access, correction, deletion review, or to ask a privacy question.

To make a privacy request, email wameicyl@163.com. We may need to verify your request and may ask for enough information to understand what you need and to protect against unauthorized disclosure.
